Go Beavers 25 - Sunday 8th June

GO Beavers 25 on Sunday 8th June at Blackland Farm Outdoor Centre, East Grinstead RH19 4HP has proven very popular and we have already 792 Beavers from across the County signed up. (largest number for 4 years!) To make this happen we NEED approx 160 volunteers to ensure all the Beavers have a great time especially as we have added new activities this year

In particular we need

  • people with abseiling or climbing permits
  •  support in refreshment tent
  • people to monitor queues for activities
  •  people to help with campfire and sweet knots
  • people to help run activities (all organised)
  • people to support in the craft tent

You can help all day from 10am-4pm or just do a morning or an afternoon shift. We welcome help from young leaders and explorers also- and happy to sign off time for D of E service.

The Beavers are in each zone for an hour and we have increased morning and afternoon break to 20 minutes this year so lots of time to grab some tea and cake! All supporters also get free badge and scarf.

We currently only have 38 people signed up and need to hit the target of 160 by May 11th or we will have to cancel the event which means disappointing lots of excited Beavers and a huge financial loss for the County. A MASSIVE thank you to all those already signed up and we will be in touch soon. If know you are coming, please ensure signed up on form!

The Joint Activity Badge was created to encourage and reward joint activities between members of the Scout and Guide Associations across West Sussex.

The badge has three levels - red, silver and gold for members that have taken part in 1, 4 or 10 joint activities

Events need to be more than 90 minutes (60 if Beavers & Rainbows) but cannot include gatherings celebrating special events such as Mothering Sunday, national events such as Remembrance Sunday or the WS Camp

The application form was updated in 2023 and we noticed that it is quite hard to find online with the revamp of the County website. So we have published the form and guidance in our members section. You don't have to be logged in to see it.
